Over the last few months I’ve had people tell me, “I’m going to see that hypnotist that’s coming to….” and they mentioned a rented meeting room at a local hotel. Now I’m not going to bash another hypnotist as I don’t know them and they could be very good. Yet, with that said, there is a considerable difference between a group session and one that is designed for you personally. Given that, I’ll relay the conversations we had about the sessions. The following is more of a paraphrased version since it encompasses the dialog a few of us had together.
Our conversation went something like this:
Me: Why are you choosing a group session instead of one that is focused specifically on you?
Client: Well, they are inexpensive, only $65; that’s cheaper than you.
Me: Okay, Fair enough. What’s your goal?
Client: Each told me their hope to either quit smoking or lose weight.
Me: What are you getting for that?
Client: I don\’t know. I guess they are going to hypnotize us.
Me: (Knowing the answer to this question, I asked anyway). So, they are going to do a group session?
Me: Do you believe that all people are the same? I mean, do you think that everybody can be hypnotized to the same level and all the same way?
Me: Then, if you are hypnotized easily and the person sitting next to you is quite there, how will the hypnotist know? And will the person sitting next to you be able to catch up? Or, what if they hypnotize easier than you, how would the hypnotist know to help you if they are not paying attention to your directly?
Client: Ummm, I don’t know.
Me: So, what I’m saying is that you are not getting an individualized session that ensures that you get the best care and attention.
Client: I guess not.
Me: Are they offering any aftercare in case you have problems with (Smoking / Weight Loss)?
Client: No. It says in the ad that it’s a one-time session.
Me: Did you know that in a group environment only about 10-Percent of the people in the room get hypnotized to a sufficient level to bring change?
Me: To give you and idea, suppose there are 50 people in the room, each paying $65. Collectively the room will have been charged $3,250 to possibly hypnotize 5-people. Does that seem like a good deal?
Of the five people I’ve talked with in the conversation above, two decided to go with the group session anyway, two decided to see me and another hasn’t decided if she really wants to quit smoking. After following up with the first two, one of them actually increased their smoking habit and the other hasn’t seen any significant gain or loss of weight.
The Reason Behind the Addictive Habits
The reason that people have addictive habits like smoking, drinking, overeating, gambling…any ‘too much’ habit is because there is something within them that drives the habit. If you are feeling sad or bored, or frustrated or experience any number of feelings, you might find that you try to mask those feelings with the habit. Then, when you light that cigarette or take another walk to the refrigerator, you find yourself frustrated or disappointed with yourself. Then…guess what? You go back and (smoke, drink, overeat, etc). It’s a never-ending cycle that, if left unaddressed can seem insurmountable.
A Closer Look at a Group Session
Because there is no individualized attention during a group session, the best a person is likely to get is Direct Suggestion. By itself, direct suggestion can be good for other things – but not addictive habits. A group session does not provide individual attention on each person and does not get to the root of the problem. If you don’t get to the problem, then you likely will miss the answer.
To be forthright and honest, I will say that I will do a group session with no more than 4 to 6 people at a time. People are important to me and I want to know that each person is getting the maximum benefit. In this group session, I am right there. They are in my face where I can see them. I will know when they are going into hypnosis and where they are. Also, in this small group session, it is only an introduction to hypnosis and I provide them with some confidence building and stress relief (something we all could use).
Then, as a follow-on, I schedule Individualized sessions, one-on-one with each person. Even if it is a husband-wife team, I see each one individually and each person deserves 100% of my time and attention.
Getting to the Root of the Issue
As a 5-PATH® Practitioner, I get to the root of the issues that might drive your habits or makes you believe the lie that you are incapable of enjoying love and success in life.
Read what I said again:
“I get to the root of the issues that might drive your habits or makes you believe the lie that you are incapable of enjoying love and success in life.”
If you allow yourself to believe negative talk that says that you are unworthy, then you need to come and see me. Because anything less than your being a successful, loving, happy person is just that…a lie. We all have carried hurts, disappointments, fears and incorrect perceptions that over time become insurmountable and negatively direct your life.
You see, this is where I come in as a 5-PATH® Practitioner. Direct suggestion found in a group session will eventually fade when there’s an underlying emotional component behind it. And…when it DOES fade, people are left without the confidence they need to enjoy a full life, full of love, happiness and success.
The 5-PATH® process is a uniquely structured, insight-based method that draws the goodness that is already within you. Typically it requires five to six sessions but the significant difference is that unlike direct suggestion, the 5-PATH® process is capable of bringing permanent change. It is utilized worldwide and has brought people from struggle to success for many, many years. In Charlottesville, VA, I am the only 5-PATH® practitioner here in this immediate area.
We are all pulled in different directions by people and situations each day. 5-PATH® helps you respond with calm assurance amidst the chaos around us. When you invest in yourself, you are investing wisely. When you invest in yourself, I invest myself in you to get you to the level of success you are searching for.
